Dilophosaurus lived during the Early Jurassic and was among the earliest large carnivorous dinosaurs. It had two distinctive crests on its skull, which may have been used for display. Lightweight and agile, it measured around 6 meters long. Though portrayed with fictional features in movies, it was a real and significant early predator.
